Correspondence is welcome in Somali, Russian and English.

Readers have always been part of this work. After an interview with WardheerNews in 2006, so many readers sent in proverbs from their own families and regions that the dictionary in preparation had to be reopened and expanded. If you know a proverb, a variant of one, or a folktale that has not been recorded — it is worth writing about.

Enquiries that are especially welcome:

Proverbs and folktales — texts, variants, and the situations in which they are used
Questions of usage — dialect forms, wording, the meaning of a difficult paremia
Academic correspondence — research questions, citations, references to the published work
Students of Somali — questions arising from study of the language and its oral tradition

When writing about a proverb or a tale, it helps to say where and from whom you heard it, and in which region or dialect it is current — that is exactly what makes a record usable.
